Having some anxiety in life from time to time can be pretty normal, and just a part of life. It can be part and parcel of living in the modern world, and be a result of living in a chaotic environment. Some anxiousness can be a result of worry because you plan to do something daunting, which is why not all anxiety is going to be bad. It can help you to take risks in those instances. But when anxiety becomes a daily struggle, then it is time to look at how best to deal with things. If you have strategies in place to deal with major anxiety and to help you deal with panic attacks, then it will mean you know just what to do when those things arise. Any unchecked anxiety can quite greatly impact the quality of your life. So start today by taking some control; here are some tips to help.
If you are looking for something natural and something that can be done for free or very cheap to help with your anxiety, then regular exercise is a must. It is good for your physical and mental healthy anyway, but during anxious periods, it helps to give you a distraction and release of the happy hormones. In fact, exercise has been shown that it can work just as well as medication can, for some people. Exercise isn’t just a short-term fix either; it can help to relieve anxiety for hours afterwards.
Don’t Drink Alcohol
If you are feeling anxious then it can be a bit of a reflex to reach for a drink for some people. But actually, it isn’t going to help at all. Alcohol is a natural sedative, which is why people may think it helps, as it can calm the nerves in the short-term. But once that is over, and you’re sober again, then the anxiety will come back and come back even worse than before. So don’t rely on alcohol to relieve anxiety; look to treat the root of the problem first.
Instead of something like alcohol, you might want to reach for a natural remedy instead. Essential oils can be something that can help to calm the nerves if diffused around the house; oils like lavender and wild orange are great for that kind of thing. You could also look to use some CBD oil from somewhere like the CBD Wellness Centre. If you don’t know what that is, then it is from the hemp plant, and drops of the oil can be used under the tongue, and then they act quickly to calm you down. The good news is that it doesn’t have the harmful THC of the plant, so it is not something that is addictive or a hallucinogen.
One of the main goals of meditation is to help to remove chaotic thoughts and then replace them with a sense of calm, helping you to be more mindful and in the moment. Several studies have shown just how much meditation can help to relieve stress and anxiety, and it has been found that thirty minutes a day of it can work as an antidepressant for some.
