Treating anxiety is so tough because it affects everybody in different ways and there are a lot of different causes. There isn’t a magical cure that works for everybody and there aren’t enough resources to treat people with anxiety that well, which is why a lot of people end up using medication. Anxiety medication is effective for a lot of people and it can really help to keep it under control. However, a lot of people don’t like the idea of being reliant on medications to treat their anxiety and some of them have side effects that people don’t want to deal with. Often, it’s best to look for more natural ways to treat your anxiety rather than just relying on medication all of the time. If you’re struggling to deal with your anxiety but you don’t want to take medication, these are some of the best natural alternatives.

Meditation

Meditation is by far one of the most effective ways to deal with anxiety. When you’re anxious about things, your mind is racing and you’re constantly worried about things. But if you can shut out that noise and learn to relax, it can help you to control those feelings. Meditation teaches you to do that and gives you the chance to take ten minutes out to relax properly, without any outside distractions. A lot of the time, people think that they’re relaxing but they aren’t really because they’re still looking at social media or watching TV so their mind is still very active. Meditation is also a good way to learn to understand and observe your own thoughts, without letting them control you. There are plenty of great guided meditation videos on Youtube that are specifically designed to help you deal with anxiety.

CBD Oil

CBD oil has really taken off in the last few years and people are using it to deal with all sorts of things from chronic pain to anxiety. A lot of people are using CBD oil as a way of relaxing and reducing feelings of anxiety. You can get it in a lot of different forms, like a CBD-rich hemp flower that you smoke or a liquid that you drop on your tongue. The research into CBD is still in its early stages so there is no guarantee that it will definitely work for you but a lot of people with anxiety report good results.

Fermented Foods

The relationship between our gut health and our mental health is something that has only been studied in recent years, but research suggests that it makes a big difference. That’s why eating fermented foods is a good way to reduce feelings of anxiety. A recent study showed that people who regularly ate fermented foods like yoghurt, sauerkraut, and soy products showed fewer symptoms of anxiety. It’s believed that this is because of the healthy bacteria in the food which improves your gut health.

Medication isn’t your only option when you’re trying to deal with anxiety so if you don’t want to go down that route, it’s ok. You can try some of these natural alternatives instead.
