“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”
-World Health Organization’s Definition of HEALTH
This website is a healthy lifestyle promotion & wellness hub run by Dr. Erin Stair, M.D., M.P.H., affectionately nicknamed Dr. Eeks. We like to keep wellness simple and natural. Browse around the blog and you will find healthy recipes, advice for healthier skin & hair, fitness tips, stress reduction tips and many more gems of natural health wisdom. We always keep everything simple, earthy and go back to nature and common sense as our number one teachers.
OUR VALUED PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS:
Blooming Wellness specializes in healthy lifestyle promotion, stress-reduction techniques and evidence-based, all-natural anxiety reduction tools for busy individuals. We want you to whistle while you work.., or at least not cry. Dr. Eeks also likes to tell funny stories, since humor is a critical component of getting well and staying well. You’ll read them on the blog, and each time you laugh, you actually boost your immune system, amongst other things, like your “endogenous morphine,” or endorphins. 😉
Our blog is fun, educational, often funny and exists to help motivate people to live healthier lives. Dr. Eeks also posts a lot about Barnaby, her dog and NYC’s sidewalk therapy dog. If you love dogs, great. If you don’t, then what’s wrong with you? 😉
Also check out our health and wellness store, which features scientifically-sound, safe, health-promoting products and stress-reduction tools and the occasional help book.
Too often you’ll see blogs or websites that side with western medicine or those that side with alternative medicine. And then one side religiously bashes the other side. This website isn’t like that. We try to keep a balance between western approaches to diseases as well as more alternative and holistic ones. There’s good and bad in both, and we don’t take sides unless it’s the world cup.
*PLEASE NOTE: This blog should NOT replace your Doctor’s Advice! What we do is provide information on interesting health and wellness topics. And tell you stories. And make you laugh. We do not respond to questions about how to treat medical illnesses. ( That’s what your doctor is for.)
